That is a question that I have been asking myself for sometime now.. I dont think I am any closer to finding out the answers thou and am going to ask for some help from our members..
When I first took this Forum over it was really slow and didnt have many of its members even showing up.. We sent out a few mailers and things started to pick up and it seemed that Proshooter was back on track.. I really thought things were changing for the better and it was, but that wasnt meant to stay that way for long..
When Proshooter's host went under we were down for almost six months before we were able to bring the board and forum back up, it was almost a total loss.. Our members all but moved on to other adventures and only a few came back to help rebuild.. I really appreciate the few faithful for what they have tried to do but it just doesnt seem like it is getting us anywhere..
I have spent alot of time and money trying to keep this site going and Im starting to loose hope in it.. I dont know what we need to do to make a difference but I am always open to new Ideas that might help.. I feel the past history of this board are whats holding us back and I think we need to move beyond that.. I just dont know how to go about that.
I think over the next couple of weeks I am going to start trying some new Ideas to see if we can start to make some inprovements.. Maybe then we can get back on track and see some real growth..
Sorry for the long rant, I am just at a loss for new ideas and dont seem to have the right answers.. Safe shooting.. Chris

Personally Z, I too am at an impass on new ideas with-out going into major money. Over the past year alone I have passed out over 150 PS business cards at gun shows, dealers, ranges and by hand to individuals that I meet as invites to our board. I don't know how many of them have shown up as guests, but only two have joined. Perhaps the board does need to go in a new direction, but which one is also a crap shoot. I know what doesn't attract new members and that is a slow moving board. Unfortunately, with the small core group here, that is what we are faced with. Faster moving boards with more info being put forward will attract newcomers faster.
I have felt for a long time that the failed raffle before you took over, and then the long shut-down hurt the board badly; but that doesnt account for the lack of new members coming in. There have been many nights that I have been online and have seen as many as six members logged in and as many as 13 guests. Why none of them are posting to help things move along, I don't know. I can't answer that.
I will try to renew my brainstorming effort in order to answer your question, and will PM you with any new ideas I can come up with. But in the meantime, any change you make, know that I am behind you.

Not sure if I have any fresh or new ideas, will give it some thought though. Kind of have gone through the same thing at COAR, where the small core group was doing all of the posting. Yet, We had people joining up left and right. Finally a few more started posting, then, a few more.
I know, little like apples to oranges, The princeiple is the same though. This one does have the "disadvantage" of haveing to compete with Arfcom, Glock talk, and the other big national boards, whereas, COAR is more of a local one.
To read some of the posts on those, they feel that there is never a reason to go anywhere else.

Hey Guys, don''t give up on the board. That is what the tone of this thread is. I know that I am not the best participant of this board but really do enjoy this board. If there is another way I can help, let me know. You guys are real and have good info and if you don't you tell you don't. I really respect the members on this board.
